A happy accident
Sometimes thing just happen. I made 2 of these mugs without any intention to make them drip like what you see here. One of them dripped so much it got stuck in the kiln, this one has just one drop of the glaze exactly underneath the handle and stop just about 2 mm. before it hit the ground. For sure I can not make another one like this :)

Ko Kret (เกาะเกร็ด)
On the 2nd day in Thailand. The boys get to visit to an old house where their great grandma and grandpa used to live and the temple next to the house then we took a small boat across Chao Phraya River to Ko Kret, a small island in Nonthaburi. Ko Kret is a place that is well known for their pottery which is still continue up until now.

A bowl or a planter?
I made this one as a bowl, but there is a big crack at the bottom after fired. Now it become a happy planter at home. :)

After I have been trying different clay types, I think I like the rough and raw effect Sodate 60 and other dark clay give with simply white glaze the most. One more pick up next week for this first class! Can not wait!
